Are you feeling hopeless, exhausted, or overwhelmed? Are you ready to take real steps to evolve into who you were always meant to be? I have found my niche working with individuals who are struggling with change. Transitions occur in many places, are influenced by factors seen and unseen, and are so often beyond our control. Mood disorders, damaged or absent relationships, anxiety, and depression…I know how terrifying these shifts in our lives can be, and I am your expert in navigating these tumultuous waters.
Who I’ve become
While earning a bachelor’s degree in business, I quickly learned that I had more of a passion for the people who made up those businesses than the businesses themselves. So, in 1997, I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Florida. Since that time, I have worked in public service and private practice with both adolescents and adults. I have spent countless hours exploring new theoretical approaches informed by both science and art in a variety of populations. Each of these experiences add knowledge and depth to my understanding of the human heart and mind. Because of this, I am skilled in working with individuals and the relationships in which they either flourish or flounder.
Who I’ve always been
Through struggle, I have come to believe that people grow when they choose courage over comfort, vulnerability over shame. We grow when we decide that we are uncomfortable enough to commit to working for change. In my relationship with my husband Brian, two beautiful children and three stellar grandsons, I make the effort to practice gratitude and the very self-compassion that I share with each of my clients.
